After all the prep work is done, turn the stove on medium and add the vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot add the onion and stir them for 45 seconds.
When the onions are nice and soft, you add the sweet bell pepper. This step is important because the pepper cook really fast and if you aren’t watching and if you aren’t constantly stirring them it will burn.
Cook the bell peppers until they are nice and soft. To test if they are soft, take a piece of pepper and if its still crunchy continues stirring. If it’s soft, you can proceed to the next step.
Once the tomatoes are nice and blended with the sweet bell peppers and smoked turkey is done / nice and crunchy, add it with the sauce.
After that, add 2 cups of water. This will allow the sauce and the meat to marinate together.
